A Laboratory Scale-Up project focused on advancing the development of novel pharmaceutical drugs required an innovative solution to integrate seven vessels (ranging from 2L to 300L) along with the necessary piping, instrumentation, and agitator controls within a confined space. The fully automated S88 batch process system demanded a Class 1 Division 1-rated solvent supply manifold and nitrogen purge/blanketing system, designed for seamless integration into a walk-in fume hood. The S88 batch recipe automates the dispensing of various solvents and ingredient additions while also incorporating batch-prompted manual ingredient additions before transferring the mixture to the Filter Dryer.
