Project Overview

Extracting oil from vegetable or animal grease/fat residue provides an alternative fuel source.  There is a wide range of sources for the base material that is fed into this system – poultry farms, restaurant food, plants, cheesesteak waste, slaughter houses.  This also eliminates the cost to dispose of the waste and turns the waste into a revenue stream.

CPS partnered with a technology company to develop renewable energy machinery to heat the base material to it’s boiling point temperature then pressurize and precisely control the injection into a decanter. Once in the decanter, the mixture is mechanically separated into three components: water, oil, and solids. The extracted water is then used as soil fertilizer, the oil is used in biodiesel production, and the solids become livestock feed and compost.
